Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced backend developers to join our growing development team. This is a great opportunity for a curious professional to become a key team member and join AIMS in our ambition to become a global leader within the Artificial Intelligence in IT Operations market.

Responsibilites:

  • Solve complex distributed systems problems oriented around achieving reliable and cost effective event processing at high scale.

  • Develop data access patterns and flexible APIs that will power many product initiatives over the next five years.

  • Act as a technical leader, defining the roadmap for technological adoption, and developing the skills of more junior engineers.

  • Uphold high standards of Engineering Excellence through: thoughtful design review, foundational technology improvements, and driving adoption of best practices.

  • Foster inclusive relationships and collaborate cross functionally with Product, Design, Support and other Engineers.


Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience.

  • Proven experience writing production-grade code.

  • Experience maintaining and operating highly available cloud services processing huge data volumes.

  • Experience with Apache Kafka

  • Familiar with Agile development using Scrum.

  • Experienced in CI/CD.

  • Stream processing is a plus.

  • Exposure to SDLC from reviewing requirements through to debugging complex systems in Production.

  • A fast learner who can quickly pick up new technologies

  • Flink knowledge a strong bonus

  • Experience with C#, Scala or Java

  • Experience with Node.js or Python

Location:

  • Preferably Oslo, Norway but other locations within the European Economic Area will be considered for exceptional candidates. Candidates need to be authorized to work within the EEA
